SMELL OF WAIT (2005)

WAITING FOR GRACE TO COME

Story of a boy with no mum, drunk dad
No place on the list of troubles he had
Enclosed in a room till three of age
No light, dog food, not even rage

Too young to get up, to leave this nightmare
Asking for some help, he wouldn’t dare
Love, kisses and hugs to him are unknown
Dreaming of a heaven of his own

No one deserves such destiny
Who chooses, who allows
Got to believe it is meant to be
That one day luck will arise

But it’s so hard not to cry
When his body hurts
After dad’s passed by
Lying in the dirt
Waiting for Grace to come

Story of a mum with four kids, no man
Jobless, left alone he won’t give a damn
No place on the list of good friends she lost
No hope, no food, drinks at any cost

Too late to rewind it all and repair
Eager to get help, no one to care
Fooled by an appalling, appealing well
Screams, just echoes, maddening hell

No one deserves such destiny
Who chooses, who allows
Got to believe it is meant to be
That one day luck will arise

But it’s too hard not to doubt
When she joins her hands
Of faith she runs out
No more will to stand
Waiting for Grace to come

Story of a world with more tears than laughs
Ruled by some egos, followed by their staffs
Pulling the strings to their advantage
Forgetting my boy and my mum’s personage
Waiting for Grace to come
