RAPHAEL PEDROLI
Born in Neuchâtel on the 26 th of October 1978, he studied drums with Billy Brooks at the Swiss Jazz School of Berne. He won several prizes: Winner of the Fridl-Wald Stiftung grant, Chrysler Award Zürich, Borsa dei Studio Siena Jazz... In 2005, he played the opening of the Swiss Diagonales Festival, accompanied by the New York based guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel. He has appeared at several festivals such as Montreux, Cully, Bern, Bâle, Paleo, Caribana, M4Music, Cité, Mont Soleil, Gurten… He lived in New York in 2004, where he collaborated and recorded with several artists. In addition to all of his collaborations with Collin Vallon, he is currently touring with several bands: Lole, Aloft, The Lost Souls, Bambeat, Contreband… He has also played with: Sandy Patton, Andy Scherrer, Roman Schwaller, Adrian Mears, the Mad Lighters, Rico Rodriguez…and many many more. Founder and artistic director of “Les Mardis du Jazz de Neuchâtel" in the autumn of 2004.
